Facilities to Pilgrims

Darsanam : For the sake of pilgrims, Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy varla Devasthanam provides Darshanam (at Free of Cost) where every pilgrim can make Darshanam of Sri Kanaka Durga Amma varu and Sri Malleswara Swamy.

Prasadam : The Devasthanam is distributing free prasadam to the visiting pilgrims from 5 A.M. to 10.00 P.M. every day. Every day about 145 Kgs Prasadam on normal days and on Friday and Sunday about 210 Kgs of Prasadam is being distributed.

AnnaPrasadam : Everyday, approximately 5000 pilgrims are provided with free meals. During important festivals such as Dasara Festival & Bhavani Deeksha Viramana, which go on for 10 Days & 6 days respectively – about 1,25,000 pilgrims are provided free meals.

Information center : Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy varla Devasthanam arranged an Information center at the main temple to give proper information to pilgrims regarding Darsanam, Accommodation, Prasadam, Seva and any other queries. In case of any quarries and missing family members, pilgrims can come to the information center and use the services.

Cloak room : Objects like bags, mobile phones, cameras and any gadgets are not allowed into the temple. So devotees have to keep their things in their safe places. For this, Devasthanam arranged Cloak room. Pilgrims can keep their objects in Cloak room by paying nominal charges.
Note: Tokens will be given to devotees who store their objects in the Cloak room. Devotees have to keep their tokens safe to collect their objects back.

Kesha Khandanam : Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy varla Devasthanam allows devotees for Tonsuring of hair known as Kesha Khandanam facility at Kesha Khandanasala. Opposite Durga Ghat, the Devasthanam maintains Kesakandana Salas with 104 Barbers in daily attendance. Additionally, during the days of Dasara Festival and Bhavani Deeksha Viramana, the services of 1500 Barbers are provided at various new Ghats, temporarily arranged for the festive occasions, duly deploying them from other temples by inviting applications from interested local barbers and offering half the amount in ticket value as remuneration. During the peak season i.e. during Sravanamasam and the summer season, extra barbers are engaged on remuneration and in the slack season, their services are relinquished.
